Exocad Basic Workflow for a Simple Digital Wax Up
With DS Core, now is the perfect time to integrate Exocad into your clinical design software portfolio. One of the greatest strengths of CEREC over the years has been the level of control it offers. I initially used Exocad to manage my distal wax-up. As we've learned with BioCopy smile proposals within CEREC, the key is all about the wax-up process.
Although I can transfer the digital wax-up directly onto the prepared teeth within Exocad, using BioCopy scans to transfer the digital wax-up can also yield excellent results in the CEREC or inLab software, when done correctly.
A crucial tip is to scan the BioCopy model before scanning the preparations in CEREC. This ensures a highly accurate scan and excellent correlation between the prep scan and the BioCopy scan.
This video showcases my Exocad workflow for a basic wax-up without utilizing the face scan feature. While the face scan function is powerful, I don't use it all the time. In this video, I focus on several key steps and the sequence of design tools that work effectively for all aspects of the digital wax-up, even when applying the full face smile design option. A full-face smile design tutorial will be available shortly.
